Darpan News Pune(Representative) -: Marathi short film Anauras has won the best short film at the 6th Kerala Short Film Festival 2026 organized for emerging artists. Ramkumar Shedage received the Best Direction award for the short film *Attar*, while Anup George won the Best Screenplay award for *A Name*.
The festival’s awards ceremony was conducted at the hands of senior Actor Yatin Karyekar and veteran writer and journalist Subhashchandra Jadhav. Over 50 short films—hailing from across India as well as abroad—were screened during the festival. Of these, approximately 30 films received awards across various categories.
The short film *Nebula* was named the Best Indian Short Film. Shivdarshan Sable received the Best Indian Direction award for *Kuch Rishte Kuch Yaadein*, while the film *Shadow* won the award for Best Indian Screenplay. Yash Gaikwad received the Best Actor award for the film *Rebel*, while Priya Pramita Paul was honored with the Best Actress award. Mira Shedage received the Best Child Artist award for her performance in *Attar*. *Samarpit*, a short film directed by Harshal Alpe, won the Best Narrative Short Film award, while Harshal Alpe himself received the Best Direction award. *A Long Night* received the award for Best Student Short Film Direction, while *Kalotra* was honored as the Best Student Short Film. Additionally, Yogesh Kamble received the Best Screenplay Writing award for *Rebel*, and the short film *Upya* was accorded the distinction of Best Children’s Film. Aryan Bedekar’s short film, *Cyber Trap*, was honored as the Best Mobile Short Film.
